House Republican lawmakers are seeking to delay new derivatives regulations until December 2012, The Wall Street Journal reports. Republicans are introducing legislation to extend the deadlines faced by the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, for 18 months. The legislation has been introduced by four Republican representing the Financial Services and Agriculture committees. The move follows complaints from the financial industry that federal regulators are rushing the rules to meet deadlines.
