Data from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission showed that hedge funds and other speculators raised commodity bets in the week ended August 16, Bloomberg reports. The bullish commodity bets increased by 2.5%, the maximum over the period of a month. Traders are anticipating production shortfall in copper, corn and oil as emerging economies boost. The week saw wagers on corn, silver and soybeans rising, though those on oil were little affected.
