Indonesia’s state utility firm, Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), has selected preferred bidders for its power plant in Central Java, Reuters reports. A consortium of Electric Power Development, a consortium of Adaro Energy and a consortium of Itochu are the selected bidders to develop PLN’s power plant worth $3.2 billion.
Other companies, which submitted their bids in late April, were Marubeni consortium and SHGRP consortium. The project is expected to begin commercial operations in 2017. The power company may unveil the winner of the tender on June 17, 2011.
