Loans in commercial mortgage-backed securities that originated in 2007 are most likely to suffer losses as a result of weaker underwriting standards at the time, according to Standard & Poor’s. The S&P study also noted that the tighter standards will result in loss risk level for CMBS loans originated this year around 2.5%, last recorded in 2002. S&P projects a 14% loss risk level for 2007 vintage CMBS.
