UBS has established an asset management unit in Beijing, Reuters reports. UBS Global Asset Management (China) will help launch private equity funds, make direct private equity investments and provide management and advisory services. The move by the Swiss bank will boost the domestic private equity market, improve local corporate governance and channel more money into the private sector to aid economic growth. Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs have also set up private equity funds in China.
