South Africa is planning new interventions to improve current hedge fund regulations.

South Africa is planning new interventions to improve current hedge fund regulations, Bloomberg reports. The new interventions will add to existing rules governing South African hedge fund managers. South African regulator, Financial Services Board, expects draft legislation for hedge funds to be adopted by the first half of this year. Hedge funds are not governed by the same rules as mutual funds, though hedge fund managers are subject to the regulator’s oversight.
