State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the investment management unit of State Street Corp., has launched the High Quality Green Bond strategy. The new strategy offers investors a channel to direct fixed income investments towards finding climate solutions. The environment, social and governance (ESG) team will maintain the strategy.
Green bonds are mainly issued by the World Bank, European Investment Bank and other supranational and multilateral development banks. The proceeds of green bond issues are invested in environmentally beneficial development projects. The new strategy will mainly invest in green bonds and other debt instruments.
