Renren.com is planning to raise about $500 million through a U.S. initial public offering, Financial Times reports. The Chinese social networking site will use the proceeds to develop and promote its technology and products. The company has appointed Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse Group to underwrite an IPO, planned for the first half 2011. The site, owned by Oak Pacific Interactive, has more than 160 million registered users.
