UBS has shifted 50 members of its equity team to New York City from Stamford, Connecticut, The Wall Street Journal reports. The shifting is part of the lender’s plans to relocate a number of employees to New York as it seeks to consolidate real estate so its businesses can work more closely together.

Other staff members, including IT executives and operations personnel are also expected to be shifted to New York from Stamford. The Swiss lender intends to maintain a presence in Stamford, its North American headquarters.
