Pearson To Acquire Schoolnet For $230M

Pearson, the owner of Penguin Books and the Financial Times, will purchase education- technology company, Schoolnet.

Pearson, the owner of Penguin Books and the Financial Times, will purchase education- technology company, Schoolnet, Bloomberg reports. Pearson will pay $230 million in cash for the acquisition.

The purchase will help Pearson to compete for U.S. government contracts. New York-based Schoolnet serves over 5 million students from pre-kindergarten age through to 12th grade in the U.S. and uses data to boost learning at schools.
