Dropbox Inc., provider of a service that lets people bring their documents, photos and videos everywhere and share them easily, has raised $250 million in a series B venture capital fundraising round. The investment round was headed by Index Ventures. New investors Benchmark Capital, Goldman Sachs Group, Greylock Partners, Institutional Venture Partners, RIT Capital Partners and Valiant Capital Partners also participated.
Early investors Sequoia Capital, Accel Partners and Hadi Partovi and Ali Partovi also took part in the fundraising process. Dropbox, which has secured a total of $257.2 million in funding, will use the proceeds to boost its growth, make acquisitions, pursue strategic partnerships and expand the team.
