BofA Reports $6.3B Earnings For Unit

Bank of America reported earnings of $6.3 billion from its global banking and markets division in 2010.

Bank of America reported earnings of $6.3 billion from its global banking and markets division in 2010, Bloomberg reports. The unit earned $724 million for the fourth quarter of last year, which was down by 50% in 2009 because of higher costs and taxes. The division also generated $337 million from its advisory work, down 6% in 2009. BofA’s investment bank unit is led by former Goldman Sachs trading head, Thomas Montag.
