Steinhoff International Holdings is seeking to acquire about a 26% stake in South African furniture retailer, JD Group, Reuters reports. The buyer will pay about $436 billion for the cash-and-share deal. Steinhoff may also sell its domestic retail assets in exchange for the stake in JD Group.

The furniture retailer will issue 60.7 million shares to buy Steinhoff’s auto retailing unit Unitrans Auto and the building materials and DIY unit, including Timbercity and Tilehouse. Steinhoff will also buy JD Group’s stake in Polish retailer, Abra Spolka Akcyjna.
