Santander U.K., a personal financial services company, is in the process of launching a £200 million regional growth fund, The Telegraph reports. The new mezzanine fund is expected to get £50 million from the government’s £1.4 billion Regional Growth Fund and £150 million from Santander itself.

The fund may target companies seeking to expand in regions outside London and the South East. The product, with government backing, could tap businesses not wishing to sell an equity stake to outside investors.
