MSCI has unveiled a range of 25 new ESG indices for pension funds and other institutional investors, Global Pensions reports. The new indices will allow clients to integrate ESG factors into their investment processes. They will form the basis of a new series of BlackRock index funds.

Some of the indices are for institutional investors, who wish to avoid investments in cluster bombs, landmines, chemical, biological, and depleted uranium weapons. Five of the indices are constructed to include companies with the highest MSCI ESG Research ratings. The MSCI ACWI ex Controversial Weapons Index and the MSCI World ex Controversial Weapons Index are some of the country and regional indices.
