CME Group computer programmer Chunlai Yang has been charged with stealing proprietary software. Yang had planned to steal proprietary source code and selling it to a Chinese start-up, as per federal investigators.
The source code if released to competitors, clients or anyone else in the financial industry could lead to economic damage. If he is found guilty, he faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
