Morgan Stanley Adds Financial Advisers

Morgan Stanley Smith Barney has appointed nine financial advisers who together managed more than $1 billion in client assets.

Morgan Stanley Smith Barney (MSSB) has appointed nine financial advisers who together managed more than $1 billion in client assets, The Wall Street Journal reports. The largest U.S. brokerage by assets has hired Marc Walters, Todd Austin and Sean Weber in Tampa, Florida, from Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, a unit of Bank of America.

In addition, Merrill Lynch executives John Alex, Jose Pietri and Thomas Laughlin, have joined Morgan Stanley in Red Bank, New Jersey. In Houston, the brokerage has appointed Joseph Neuhaus and Karen Jankowski from RBC Wealth Management, a unit of Royal Bank of Canada. Philip Noble has joined Morgan Stanley in Toledo, Ohio, from LPL Financial, a subsidiary of independent broker/dealer LPL Investment Holdings.
