Neil Messing has been appointed as senior investment officer for hedge funds for the five New York City pension funds, Pensions & Investments reports. The position is newly created. Messing, who will develop and manage the city pension system’s hedge fund portfolio, is working under Seema Hingorani, head of equities. Previously, Messing was vice president and manager of research at Unigestion in the U.S.
