Irish food company, Greencore, is in discussions with private equity firms for a new higher offer for U.K.’s Northern Foods, Reuters reports. The Leeds-based company agreed to a $552 million offer from Ranjit Boparan and rejected an all-share offer from Greencore.
The Dublin-based company has until March 2 to make a counter-bid for Northern Foods, adds The Telegraph. The Irish company has held talks with Northern Foods’ board and was granted access to additional due diligence information ahead of a possible offer.
