The Robert R. McCormick Foundation is giving approximately $5 million in new grants to 22 organizations committed to strengthening quality journalism, promoting news literacy and protecting press freedoms. The grants will be provided over the next two years.
The foundation has granted $225,000 to the Center for Public Integrity’s Investigative News Network and $330,000 to the Stony Brook University. It has also awarded $300,000 to the News Literacy Project and another $250,000 to the Better Government Association.
