Chris Butler, director of global resources at Edinburgh-based fund company Martin Currie, is stepping down at the end of the year.

Chris Butler, director of global resources at Edinburgh-based fund company Martin Currie, is stepping down at the end of the year, What Investment reports. He is planning to concentrate on his family business and philanthropy. He has been with the firm for 22 years.

Ruairidh Stewart and Duncan Goodwin will co-manage the funds now. Butler had earlier co-managed the Martin Currie Global Resources, Martin Currie Global Resources Absolute Alpha and Martin Currie Global Resources Absolute Return funds with them. Butler will retire from day-to-day involvement in the funds from December 1 and quit Martin Currie on December 31.
