BlackRock’s iShares Gold Trust has increased its physical gold holdings by 36.9%, The Wall Street Journal reports. The boost in holdings has come in the six months since the ETF challenged its competitors’ management fees. BlackRock’s fund charges a 0.25% monthly management fee, while the standard for SPDR Gold Shares and many other similar ETFs is 0.4%. Soros Fund Management acquired a five-million-share stake in BlackRock’s ETF in the third quarter, while reducing its SPDR Gold holdings by over half a million units, to around 4.7 million shares.
