Judith Pyle, a University of Hawaii Foundation board trustee, has committed $2 million to set up an endowed deanship at the Hawaii university, Green Field Reporter reports. The fund will be used to appoint staff, support research and for programs that preserve Hawaiian culture.
The fund, to be called the Judith Dion Pyle Dean’s Chair in the Hawaiinuiakea School of Hawaiian Knowledge, is awaiting approval from the board of regents, adds Hawaii 24/7. Pyle is currently president of Judith Dion Pyle & Associates and was previously a vice chairwoman of the board and senior vice president of corporate marketing of Rayovac Corporation.
