Wespath, managing nearly $16 billion assets, has appointed Sylvia Poniecki as a manager in the positive social purpose (PSP) lending area. Wespath is the investment unit of the U.S. General Board of Pension and Health Benefits of The United Methodist Church. The PSP program assets include mortgages on affordable multi-family rental properties and loans on mixed-use commercial properties.
Poniecki will oversee transaction due diligence, monitoring and support of PSP lending program initiatives. The program runs $770 million in assets. She joins from the Illinois Housing Development Authority, managing the state’s low-income housing tax credit and affordable housing tax credit programs.
