CalPERS CIO, Joseph Dear, was re-elected as chair of the council of institutional investors (CII), Pensions & Investments reports. Dear has been a CII director since 2008 and also became chairman later that year. Dear was opposed by Gregory Smith, COO and general counsel of the $39.7 billion Colorado Public Employees Retirement Association. Smith will continue to serve as director of the 15-member CII board.
