Aberdeen Asset Management has expanded its offshore Asian fixed income range with the launch of the Asian Local Currency Short-Duration Bond fund, What Investment reports. Aberdeen’s Asian fixed income team based in Singapore will manage the Luxembourg-domiciled fund.

The fund will invest mostly in sovereign bonds in up to 10 Asia ex-Japan countries with duration of less than 1.65 years. The short-duration strategy, part of the Aberdeen Global range, is intended for investors seeking lower risk exposure to Asia with participation through long-term currency gains.
