Senior employees of Royal Bank of Scotland have sold shares worth £140 million, Financial Times reports. The stock sold by the senior staff was a part of their bonuses, which included bonds and two share tranches.

Out of the 650 million bonus shares awarded to employees on June 20, 2011, over 50% were immediately disposed off in the market. Employees sold a total of 354.6 million shares at 39 pence per unit.
