GTCR Buys Sterigenics For $675M

Buyout firm, Silverfleet Capital, is offloading medical-services company, Sterigenics International, to U.S. private-equity firm, GTCR, for $675 million, The Wall Street Journal reports. The deal is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2011.

Illinois-based Sterigenics is the largest provider of outsourced sterilization services for medical equipment, such as gowns, scalpels and gloves. Silverfleet and PPM America Capital Partners purchased Sterigenics in 2004 for $311.5 million from Belgium’s Ion Beam Applications.
