HSBC has appointed six trading, sales and client relations employees to set up a combined prime broking and custody service in Hong Kong, Financial News reports. Laurence Denvir, formerly with Goldman Sachs, will join the HSBC team in August as head of client service and integration.
He will be responsible for heading a team that includes Mylene Pelandre, a former-Bank of America Merrill Lynch veteran, and Richard Rouse, formerly at Credit Suisse. Darrin Wong, previously with UBS, has joined the sales team, while Adam York from Nomura will head equity finance Delta One sales and Kara Byun from Maple Leaf Capital will head convertible bond trading in Asia.
