Goldman Sachs is seeking to launch a U.S. equities ETF, Index Universe reports. The bank has filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to seek approval for the planned fund, which will be Goldman’s first index ETF.
The index behind the planned ETF will rank the U.S stock universe by employing five-year beta measures and eliminate the top 30 percent by weight. Goldman is also looking to offer fund-of-funds ETFs. It sought broad exemptive relief from the SEC to launch a variety of funds, including equity, fixed-income and blended portfolios.
