Big corporate borrowers are expected to face higher costs as banks charge them for the additional expense of complying with new regulations. The Loan Syndications and Trading Association, a group made up of banks and loan investors, has prepared a set of guidelines for banks, which include a clause that borrowers would be forced to compensate financial institutions for costs related to implementing reforms in the Dodd-Frank Act. Observers say most banks are expected to follow the guidelines.
