Commerz Real has completely purchased a 74.9 percent holding in transmission system operator Amprion from present owner RWE. The acquisition was made on behalf of a new infrastructure fund for institutional investors, including Munich Re and ERGO, Swiss Life, Talanx and pension funds for members of the medical profession in Westfalen-Lippe and Brandenburg.
RWE will continue to own 25.1 percent in the company, along with an indirect stake of 10.8 percent through the consortium. Commerz Real will initially own an indirect stake of 13 percent. The temporarily held interests will be placed with other investors in the short term by Commerz Real.
