Gail India will set up a trading desk in Singapore in a few months, Economic Times reports. The gas utility will look to activate the subsidiary as a trading unit.

The company, with India’s largest gas pipeline network of some 8,700 kilometers, will initially use the unit for its own requirements and then consider trading on a larger platform. Its network is capable of transmitting about 170 million cubic meters of gas a day.
