Chinese stock exchanges are planning to increase the number of exchange-traded funds in 2011, Bloomberg reports. The Shanghai Stock Exchange is proposing about 20 ETFs this year, said Tang Xian, the exchange’s assistant director of product development. The Shenzhen Stock Exchange is planning to list about eight ETFs, according to Fan Yue, head of fund supervision at the bourse. Currently, there are 22 ETFs listed in China with 17 in Shanghai and five in Shenzhen.
