BlackRock has appointed Jack Chandler as its global head of real estate business. He will be managing the firm’s global real estate capabilities, which involve both equity and debt investment products worth $13 billion in assets under management. Chandler will report to head of BlackRock Alternative Investors, Matthew Botein and will be replacing senior managing director, Paul Audet, who assumed interim leadership for BlackRock’s real estate business in 2008. Chandler is joining BlackRock from LaSalle Investment Management, where he was global CIO and executive chairman for Asia.
