Laurentian University has obtained a grant of $10 million from merchant bank Forbes & Manhattan chairman and CEO Stan Bharti, Northern Ontario Business reports. The endowment to the school of engineering of the university is a part of The Next 50 fundraising drive.
The campaign seeks to garner $50 million for key projects at the school, including the Indigenous Sharing and Learning Centre, the School of Architecture, the School of Mines and the international accreditation of its faculty of management. Following the donation, the university has renamed its engineering department as the Bharti School of Engineering.
