Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has offered $9.7 million for the implementation of education reforms in Colorado schools, Education News Colorado reports. The three-year grant will be partly used to help them implement new content standards, new tests and new educator evaluation systems in four chosen schools.
The proceeds from the grant will also be used to maintain the work of the Colorado Department of Education and the Colorado Legacy Foundation in implementing those laws. The pilot programs in the four districts are planned to be extended to other 174 districts in the state.
