The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) has appointed Russell Fong as its acting CFO, effective April 4. In his newly-established role, Fong will manage the financial processes for CalPERS, including budgeting, accounting, cash management, and financial planning and analysis. He will also focus on CalPERS enterprise risk management projects. Fong joined CalPERS in 2005, and currently serves as the interim assistant executive officer of the CalPERS administrative services branch.
