Alternative investment manager EEA Group is planning to increase its fund that invests in U.S. life insurance policies, by 100 percent, Bloomberg reports. The London-based firm is hoping to up the fund size to $2 billion over the next two years by attracting more Japanese investors.

The EEA Life Settlements Fund acquires life insurance policies from people and pays the premiums in return for the insurance payment on their demise. The fund manages approximately $1 billion and is only available to non-U.S. investors.
