UBS Wealth Appoints Investment Chief

UBS Wealth Management has named Alexander Friedman as CIO, effective from March 1, 2011.

UBS Wealth Management has named Alexander Friedman as CIO, effective from March 1, 2011, Financial News reports. In his newly created role, he will oversee global investment strategy and policy.

Friedman will work under CEO, Jürg Zeltner, and focus on wealth protection and optimized financial returns consistent with client objectives. For three years until March 2010, Friedman worked as CFO of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He quit to set up private investment vehicle, Asymmetry.
