Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) is seeking to sell its Spanish real estate loan portfolio, The Wall Street Journal reports. The Scottish lender’s £1 billion portfolio has been divided into two lots of £600 million of less risky assets and £400 million of the more risky or toxic loans.

The Edinburgh-based bank’s portfolio sale is being managed by Morgan Stanley. Blackstone Group, Cerberus Capital Management and Apollo Management are expected to bid for the portfolio.
