Abraaj Capital has acquired the North African private equity (PE) platform of Amundi. As part of the deal, the private equity and alternative asset manager has taken over the management of the $161 million SGAM Al Kantara Fund as well as the 11-member Amundi investment team.
Abraaj Capital has also acquired the French asset manager’s interest in the Kantara Fund. The Kantara Fund is a buyout and expansion capital fund, mainly focused on small and midcap investment opportunities in North Africa.
