The role of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) will increase among Australian superannuation funds, as per a study by State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), Global Pensions reports. Australian institutional investors are expected to boost their use of ETFs following the Cooper Review recommendations.

Cooper review emphasizes on offering low-cost-for-value investment outcomes for superannuation funds. ETFs will fit well with the investment strategies as they replicate a market index and have relatively low portfolio turnover, which further reduces costs.
