Invesco Australia, a unit of investment manager Invesco, has rolled out an Asian equity fund, Money Management reports. The Invesco Wholesale Asian Consumer Demand Fund is a managed vehicle focused on investing in Asian companies, other than Japan, that generate revenue primarily from growth in consumer demand.
The firm is looking to benefit from Asia’s huge population, fast-growing, youthful middle class and rising per capita income. It had floated a similar vehicle in Hong Kong in 2008 at present managing some $900 million in the Asian consumer demand strategy.
