Sponsor of MongoDB database 10gen has received $20 million in venture capital financing. The investment round was led by Sequoia Capital. Existing investors Flybridge Capital and Union Square Ventures also took part in the fundraising process.
The company will use the proceeds to meet growing global demand for MongoDB across enterprises, media, gaming and government organizations and the addition of new offices in Ireland and the U.K. The company has also appointed technology veteran Erik Frieberg as vice president of marketing and alliances.
