Van Eck Global is planning to unveil an equities fund focused on Nigeria, Index Universe reports. The money management firm has also filed paperwork with the Securities and Exchange Commission to market the fund.
The Market Vectors Nigeria ETF will invest around 80% of its assets in Van Eck’s Market Vectors Nigeria Index and seek to own all the securities in the index. The product will be able to lend its securities to brokers, dealers and other financial institutions and receive collateral equal to at least 102% of the value of the securities being loaned.
