Earning his fifth straight turn in this winner’s circle, and eighth No. 1 since 2007, is Masahiro Nakanomyo, 55. In April 2009 he joined Barclays to lead coverage of Japan’s precision instruments makers. Previously, he spent 25 years in various roles at Mitsubishi UFJ Securities Co. and its predecessor firms. Barclays announced in January that it is closing its Asia-Pacific equities research operations, and Nakanomyo jumped to Jefferies Japan. With effect from this month, he will resume reporting on this sector.
