Elon Musk’s Tesla — whose shares seem to finally be on the skids — has never been beloved by hedge funds. For years the iconic electric carmaker has been perhaps the most popular hedge fund short bet, popularized by such luminaries as Kynikos Associates’ Jim Chanos and Greenlight Capital’s David Einhorn.
