Light Street Capital Discloses First Close on New Private Fund

The Tiger Cub says it made investments in Slack Technologies and Pinterest.

Light Street Capital Management revealed that the first close of Light Street Beacon I, its new, private, late-stage growth equity fund, took place in mid-January, according to a letter recently sent to clients.

The tech-oriented hedge fund firm headed by Tiger Cub Glen Kacher also said that beginning April 1 it will no longer invest in private companies through the hedge fund’s side pocket.
