David Ben-Ur
Caxton Alternative Management

Winning the trust of Robert Litterman, the esteemed former head of risk at Goldman, Sachs & Co., is no small thing. Not only did David Ben-Ur achieve that imprimatur at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he was senior investment strategist for the company’s Global Manager Strategies group, but he also coauthored a chapter on asset management for Litterman’s book Modern Investment Management: An Equilibrium Approach, published in 2003. Ben-Ur, who received a BA in Spanish literature and comparative religion from Tufts University and a master’s in public policy in international trade and finance from Harvard University, left Goldman in 2004 to become partner and co–chief investment officer at fund-of-hedge-funds firm Corbin Capital Partners. At the start of this year, Ben-Ur, 41, departed Corbin to become chief investment officer of Caxton Alternative Management, the New York–based family office of another investment industry stalwart, Bruce Kovner.
